Will a dog whom never worn a collar get aggressive when she is collared?
My friend whom lived in a rural area never took his dog out for a walk or put a collar on her since he lived in a rural area.(the dog was free). Now he is moving to the city and would have to take his dog out for a walk with a collar. Some of our friends told us that the dog might get aggressive if we do so. Is this right?. PS:The dog is a female Rottweiler.
The dog will need to be trained to accept the collar and to walk on a leash. Rotties are smart; it shouldn’t be overwhelming to teach her to do this. There’s no reason to expect aggression from the dog; Rottweilers aren’t savage beasts. If her master wants her to do this, she will learn it. If he isn’t sure how to teach her, he should consult an experienced trainer. His veterinarian can recommend one.
